The adventures of an opinionated, atheist vegan in a religion based meat eating world.

102 people vegan due to my in your face attitude and counting.

Al-right, Rant time.

I had someone ask me to watch this and then give the arguments against it so instead of answering in message form I thought I would make it a post so everyone can once and for all learn the stupidity of this woman. To get through it I will attempt to put as much as I can remember in dot form.

The Vegetarian Myth by Lierre Keith

Ex Vegan.

Never trust an Ex-Vegan.

Claims to be a Feminist.

Answer me this: How can you call yourself feminist when you openly consume the by-products of your raped, tortured, enslaved and murdered gender?

Feminism is a collection of movements and ideologies aimed at defining, establishing, and defending equal political, economic, and social rights for women.

And yet billions female cows, chickens, pigs, ducks, you name it are being routinely abused and raped each year and you have nothing to say about it?

Says our short digestive tract is to fuel the brain.

Striking differences between carnivores and herbivores are seen in these organs. Carnivores have a capacious simple (single-chambered) stomach. The stomach volume of a carnivore represents 60-70% of the total capacity of the digestive system. Because meat is relatively easily digested, their small intestines (where absorption of food molecules takes place) are short — about three to five or six times the body length. Since these animals average a kill only about once a week, a large stomach volume is advantageous because it allows the animals to quickly gorge themselves when eating, taking in as much meat as possible at one time which can then be digested later while resting. Additionally, the ability of the carnivore stomach to secrete hydrochloric acid is exceptional. Carnivores are able to keep their gastric pH down around 1-2 even with food present. This is necessary to facilitate protein breakdown and to kill the abundant dangerous bacteria often found in decaying flesh foods.

Because of the relative difficulty with which various kinds of plant foods are broken down (due to large amounts of indigestible fibers), herbivores have significantly longer and in some cases, far more elaborate guts than carnivores. Herbivorous animals that consume plants containing a high proportion of cellulose must “ferment” (digest by bacterial enzyme action) their food to obtain the nutrient value. They are classified as either “ruminants” (foregut fermenters) or hindgut fermenters. The ruminants are the plant-eating animals with the celebrated multiple-chambered stomachs. Herbivorous animals that eat a diet of relatively soft vegetation do not need a multiple-chambered stomach. They typically have a simple stomach, and a long small intestine. These animals ferment the difficult-to-digest fibrous portions of their diets in their hindguts (colons). Many of these herbivores increase the sophistication and efficiency of their GI tracts by including carbohydrate-digesting enzymes in their saliva. A multiple-stomach fermentation process in an animal which consumed a diet of soft, pulpy vegetation would be energetically wasteful. Nutrients and calories would be consumed by the fermenting bacteria and protozoa before reaching the small intestine for absorption. The small intestine of plant-eating animals tends to be very long (greater than 10 times body length) to allow adequate time and space for absorption of the nutrients.

Protein

It has been proven over and over that humans don’t actually need that much protein to maintain a healthy weight – the actual amount is about .36 grams per pound of body weight. So I don’t know what you guys are freaking out about all the time.

A cup of cooked spinach has 13 grams. And there’s more than spinach – the vegan world is aplenty with protein, contrary to popular belief. A cup of soy milk has seven grams of protein, two tablespoons of peanut butter have eight grams and a cup of oatmeal has six grams. But don’t stop there – a cup of lentils has 18 grams and a cup of black beans has 16 grams!

Hence, it is very easy to get all your protein from a vegan diet.

For TRUE, UNBIASED, MEDICAL info on B12, check out http://libaware.economads.com/b12issue.php andwww.naturalnews.com/029531_vitamin_B12_vegan.html. (Vitamin B12 is a bacterium that is produced in the soil, and we only need three micrograms per day. Some animals have trace amounts of B12 in their flesh because they eat food off of the ground that has dirt on it. Eating meat—which contains cholesterol, saturated fat and animal protein—for trace amounts of B12—which the body cannot absorb anyway (see libaware link above)—is inefficient and deadly. Furthermore, B12 is destroyed by excessive amounts of heat, which explains why 99 percent of all people with B12 deficiencies are meat-eaters. The other 1 percent are vegetarians who subsist on cheese and eggs, and junk-food vegans (Ruffles, Oreos and french fries). These groups are also at risk for anemia because cheese, eggs, Ruffles, Oreos and french fries are devoid of iron. (Non-junk-food) veganism causes no disease. It is preventative medicine, the treatment and the cure.)

Vegans eating Grass?

Vegan’s don’t eat grass, it’s that simple.

Claiming Diabetes/ Cancer is directly relates to eating plants.

Heart Disease: Animal products are the main source of saturated fat and the only source of cholesterol in the diet. Vegans avoid these health threats. Additionally, fiber helps reduce cholesterol levels and animal products contain no fiber.

Diabetes: Researchers found 43 percent of people with type 2 diabetes who followed a low-fat vegan diet for 22 weeks reduced their need to take medications to manage their disease compared with 26 percent of those who followed the diet recommended by the American Diabetes Association.

Cancer: Ask any dietitian, vegan or not, they will all tell you that the healthiest way to live your life, the easiest to prevent and so far the only cure for any sort of cancer is through a vegan diet.

Lierre Keith a completely misinformed, uneducated failed feminist that made a book, ladies and gentlemen anything in this day and age is possible and writing anything that goes in favour of what society wants or already knows will shoot your to fame and will automatically be sourced as factual information.

This just came up on my dashboard:

Asking vegans to respect your decision to eat meat is on par with asking feminists to respect sexists, asking Poc to respect racists and asking homosexuals to respect homophobes. It is ludicrous to think that difference in opinion warrants mutual respect,…

God damn, Take your blinders off!

The only thing disrespectful about this post is the fact that you’ve ruined it with your bullshit Speciesist opinion.

First off, it is not a decision to eat meat, it is a decision to not eat meat, humans are omnivores and us meat eaters are just being humans, we need the nutrients we receive from meat!

Textbook carnist argument against veganism, I NEED MEAT, WE WERE MADE TO EAT MEAT! You could not be more wrong,

It IS a decision to eat meat, IF someone puts meat in front of you you don’t HAVE to eat it, hence you are choosing to consume it. It’s a choice, you can live a perfectly healthy life without the use of meat, dairy and eggs.

Humans are NOT omnivores, each and every single human being has the same body systems as every herbivorous being on this earth. We have the same teeth, jaw movement, acids in the mouth, some stomach, same intestines, lack of claws, lack of the ability to process raw meats, hence why you have to cook it.

I am in no way having a go at all vegans and vegetarians, just the people who accuse me of being in the same class as sexists, racists and homophobes.

The people that accuse you of being these things are not “accusing you” we are telling you, you are all these things, if you expect us to appreciate your right to eat meat that is exactly the same as the things listed above.

Just because you choose to not eat meat, does not make you better than people who do (again I repeat most of the human population) so please keep your disrespectful opinions to yourself.

Yes, choosing not to eat meat, following our natural eating habits, not supporting the rape, torture, enslavement, abuse and murder of billions of animals each and every year does make us better people, it makes us better than you by a whole lot actually.

You keep bringing up that most of the human population eats meat so that somehow makes it okay?

If most of the population were racist would that make it okay for everyone to become a racist?

If most of the population was raping people, would that make rape okay?

If most of the population was taking advantage of the dumb, would that be okay?

If most of the population was eating other humans, would that make it okay?

No.

So why when most of the population takes advantage of our animal brother and sisters is it okay? when they have no voice, They are being raped, They are being murdered, They are being eaten?

Riddle me that.

I’m not even going to answer all this because it is so ridiculous. But I read in your description you are an atheist, so I assume you, like I have had full on religious people shoving their beliefs in your face, with no respect for your opinion and this is exactly what was happening in the original post I was replying to. I understand where you are coming from and I agree that how some animals are treated in some avatars and countries is disgusting but not all. Humans are omnivores, that is a fact, we need the nutrients we get from meat, herbivores do not necessarily need the same nutrients. You can get the nutrients you get from other foods, that’s true but that doesn’t change humans to herbivores. Lions eat zebras, do you have a problem with those lions? I bet you don’t, cause they don’t have as advanced brain capacity as humans, yeah, they are just doing what nature says yeah? But anyway, reply back to this or whatever accusing me as being as bad as a rapist, just have some respect because let’s be honest you are not going to have many friends if you can’t respect people’s opinion even though they respect yours.

Are you not answering because you think it’s “ridiculous” or because you are actually unable to comprehend the statistics that I put under your nose?

Yes, I am and Atheist, and yes, I have people shoving their beliefs down my throat. Well at least I used to. The difference is Vegans telling you their opinion saves lives, the theory of veganism, if the world turned vegan would save billions of animals each and every year. Religion on the other hand promotes violence, starts wars and fills children full of lies and deceit. When was the last time you heard a war break out over broccoli?

I understand where you are coming from and I agree that how some animals are treated in some avatars and countries is disgusting but not all.

Wrong, every second of every minute of every day animals are being slaughtered somewhere in the world. That is not okay, there is no Humane way to slaughter something, there is no nice way around it.

How would you feel if someone was going around and killing humans, but their defence was they were doing it “humanely”. You would be outraged,

what about:

  • Humane Rape?
  • Humane Slavery?
  • Human Child Molestation?
  • Humane Holocaust?

There’s no difference, there is no way around it, murder is murder no matter how you do it.

Humans are omnivores, that is a fact, we need the nutrients we get from meat, herbivores do not necessarily need the same nutrients.

I was really REALLY hoping that I wouldn’t have to get into this but it seems that you’re just so ignorant that I’m going to have to do it anyway, so here we go.

Human Body 101. With Josh.

Brain:

Compassion, and emotion shown by humans to other humans, animals, etc. An emotion that prevents most humans from killing countless animals for their own food, hence why you have to buy your meat from the shop. I highly doubt that you would be able to go out and hunt all your food for every meal. If you had to hunt your food all day every day I guarantee that you wouldn’t be eating it. It goes against your nature.  Here’s a test for you, put a baby in a crib with a chick and an apple, this child has no idea of what is right or wrong, no idea what is food and what is a toy, no idea of the world around it. Which do you think the baby will eat and what do you think it will play with? From a young age we are taught to love animals, almost all children’s books are filled with animals, Nursery Rhyme’s are filled with animals but at what point do humans get rid of that natural instinct to love animals? when is it acceptable to disregard everything you learnt at a child and start eating them?

The answer is simple, when your parents, your schools, your family, friends and the media brainwash you to think that it’s the normal thing to do.

Teeth: Our teeth are round and flat, why is that? It is to grind down the herbs, seeds and vegetables that we are meant to consume.

But Josh, what about these canines?

I’m glad you asked, yes we have canine teeth, as do the other plant eating animals, what are they used for? They’re used for biting into the harder fruits and vegetables, such as carrots. without these it would be almost impossible to consume such things. Try cutting through a carrot with 2 round rocks, it’s very difficult.

Body Functions:

  • Intestinal tract length.Carnivorous animals have intestinal tracts that are 3-6x their body length, while herbivores have intestinal tracts 10-12x their body length. Human beings have the same intestinal tract ratio as herbivores.
  • Stomach acidity.Carnivores’ stomachs are 20x more acidic than the stomachs of herbivores. Human stomach acidity matches that of herbivores.
  • Saliva. The saliva of carnivores is acidic. The saliva of herbivores is alkaline, which helps pre-digest plant foods. Human saliva is alkaline.
  • Shape of intestines.Carnivore bowels are smooth, shaped like a pipe, so meat passes through quickly — they don’t have bumps or pockets. Herbivore bowels are bumpy and pouch-like with lots of pockets, like a windy mountain road, so plant foods pass through slowly for optimal nutrient absorption. Human bowels have the same characteristics as those of herbivores.
  • Fiber.Carnivores don’t require fiber to help move food through their short and smooth digestive tracts. Herbivores require dietary fiber to move food through their long and bumpy digestive tracts, to prevent the bowels from becoming clogged with rotting food. Humans have the same requirement as herbivores.
  • Cholesterol.Cholesterol is not a problem for a carnivore’s digestive system. A carnivore such as a cat can handle a high-cholesterol diet without negative health consequences. A human cannot. Humans have zero dietary need for cholesterol because our bodies manufacture all we need. Cholesterol is only found in animal foods, never in plant foods. A plant-based diet is by definition cholesterol-free.

Claws and teeth: Carnivores have claws, sharp front teeth capable of subduing prey, and no flat molars for chewing. Herbivores have no claws or sharp front teeth capable of subduing prey, but they have flat molars for chewing. Humans have the same characteristics as herbivores.

Now lets talk nutrition.

But WHat about my Calcium Josh? I need it from milk!

Calcium, needed for strong bones, is found in dark green leafy vegetables, tofu made with calcium sulfate, calcium-fortified soy milk and orange juice, and many other foods commonly eaten by vegans.

BAD CALCIUM:
-Processed foods like milk, butter, and cheese cause an acidic internal state.  To compensate, the body pulls calcium out of your bones into your bloodstream to alkalize. Sound like osteoporosis? Studies by Dr. Hegsted have shown that the countries with the highest dairy consumption also have the highest rates of osteoporotic fractures (1, find Hegsted; 2 Amer. Journal Clinical Nutrition).

-Calcium supplements from coral, shell, bone, or mined from the earth carry a positive charge while plant calcium (dark, leafy greens) are negatively charged, making them ideal for consumption, detox, muscle relaxation, and creating alkalinity—all the good stuff good calcium is supposed to do.

-Calcium builds up in areas of damaged cells like breast tissue, arteries connected to the heart and brain, soft tissue, cartilage, and joints, for example. So if you’ve been damaging your insides and attracting disease with bad food and drugs, etc., you’re creating a breeding ground for calcium deposits.

Vitamin B-12: Vitamin B12 is a bacterium that is produced in the soil, and we only need three micrograms per day. Some animals have trace amounts of B12 in their flesh because they eat food off of the ground that has dirt on it. Eating meat—which contains cholesterol, saturated fat and animal protein—for trace amounts of B12—which the body cannot absorb anyway —is inefficient and deadly. It is preventative medicine, the treatment and the cure.

Lions eat zebras, do you have a problem with those lions? I bet you don’t, cause they don’t have as advanced brain capacity as humans, yeah, they are just doing what nature says yeah?

Yeah a lion is following nature, and hunting it’s own prey in the way that nature wants it too, Humans factory farming animals is not hunting, buying your food from the super market or butcher is not hunting, shooting an animal is not hunting, laying traps to catch animals is not hunting, It’s cheating.

We may have intelligence in the way that we have learnt how to farm animals, but can you run like a cheetah? can you fly like a bird? can you hear like a bat?

No, because that is the animals strength. Each and every being on this planet has it’s own strengths and weaknesses.

Just because we have the intelligence to do something doesn’t mean we are the smarter ones, and it doesn’t mean it is the right thing to do.

Athletes that use performance enhancing drugs to get to the top are disqualified,

If I learnt how to rig pokie machines and cheat my way to millions I would get arrested,

If someone cheats in a test they get it taken away.

Just because we CAN cheat to get to the top that doesn’t make it the right thing to do.

Christianity,

Christianity is meant to be an all loving Religion, based on compassion, caring, love, hope, and a sense of well being.

God is meant to be forever grateful, loving, wise, compassionate and forgiving.

And yet, every single fucking day there are “Christians” spreading hate to everyone that doesn’t believe in their way of life, children being molested for believing in what their parents brought them to believe, Homosexuals being told to kill themselves, Women being told they are not worthy because they’re not “pure”, there are lies being taught in schools, children being force fed the bullshit that is in the bible, They are being brainwashed into believing in a false story.

You say your “Holy Book” is so ever powerful and teaches you good morals and how to life your life in the best way possible.

Here’s a question for you, Why do you have to have it written down? How is it not common knowledge in your pint sized brain that Killing, Stealing or cheating on your partner is wrong?

Next time you start a sentence, instead of starting it with

“As a Christian” maybe you should use “As a hypocrite”

It’s starting to get on my nerves that I’m now known as “The Vegan”.

Every time I meet someone new, or get introduced to someone their first comment is,

“OH! So you’re the Vegan!”

They then follow that with a whole bunch of reasons why we are meant to eat meat and how everything I stand for is wrong. This almost always ends in a conversation/ debate that takes up the entirety of the night, which not only ruins my night, but also dampens the night of the people I was meant to be hanging out with.

It’s called google folks, Do some research before coming to me with your bullshit excuses.

Meet your Meat.

From start to finish.

Nice to meat you

No matter if you choose to eat meat or not, it is important to know where it comes from.

shit like this pisses me off.

there’s this whole animal rights movement out there. this movement that claims that people who butcher and eat meat are horrible awful murderers. and it’s not true.

my family owns a slaughter house. since i’ve come to college i’ve called it a butcher shop so that people are less freaked out, but it’s always been the slaughter house.  my grandparents live next door.  the cattle are brought in on sunday night, usually around 7 or 8pm, and are put into pens. they’re not overcrowded and they stay there overnight.  the next morning they’re moved in a line to what’s called the killfloor.  they’re stunned with an electric gun that renders them unconscious and then their throat is slit.  they’re hung up AFTER THEY’RE DEAD to drain the blood and pull the skin off the body (the head is usually removed at this point too).  then they go into a freezer, where they get cut apart later in the day/week.

i know there are a lot of videos out there that show half living animals hanging and falling, and i can’t explain that. really i can’t, and i don’t know how/why it happens, because that is cruel to the animals.

but i can tell you that it doesn’t happen all the time, and that what is in these photos above is normal and clean and fast for the animal.

i don’t eat a lot of red meat because of the heart disease that runs in my family.  not because i think they’re harming animals. so stop putting photos on the internet to gross people out when you’re uninformed.  i have no problem with people who don’t eat meat for health reasons or because they don’t like it, i just have a problem with propaganda.

People like you piss me off.

this movement that claims that people who butcher and eat meat are horrible awful murderers. and it’s not true.

Wrong, I don’t understand how you people can’t comprehend this shit.

If someone was to butcher and eat a human they would be called a murderer, and be looked down upon by society. If someone was to butcher and eat a dog they would be called a murderer and looked down upon. Where as if someone butchers and eats a cow it’s called a job, or “The way of life.” That’s Bull shit, Just because one animal is larger than another, because it looks different or because it is brought up in a different environment. That’s speciesism.

the next morning they’re moved in a line to what’s called the killfloor.  they’re stunned with an electric gun that renders them unconscious and then their throat is slit.  they’re hung up AFTER THEY’RE DEAD to drain the blood and pull the skin off the body (the head is usually removed at this point too).  then they go into a freezer, where they get cut apart later in the day/week.

First of all the cows are moved from their homes, where they have lived a tiny portion of their lives somewhat comfortably, but in most cases not. As they finally start to get comfortable with their surroundings you take them from their homes and put them in an entirely new environment to stay the night. At this point the cows would be stressing and worried as you have completely changed their living arrangements and they are in an entirely new place.

They are then forced onto the “Kill floor”, an unnatural place for a cow to be, stressing the cows out even more, after being put into the pen so the cow is unable to move(placing even more stress onto the cow), the cow is now stressing about being moed out of it’s home, placed in a random pen over night, pushed up the kill floor, lined up with its friends and family, put into a cage where it is unable to move and a complete stranger is coming up to it with a gun.

Not fun for anyone in that situation.

I don’t care if they’re fully concious or  knocked out, the fact that you’re killing an animal is the disgusting part.

YOU. ARE. KILLING. ANOTHER. BEING.

Now that’s murder, if you were to kill another human you would go to jail, If you were to kill a dog you would be done for animal cruelty, but because it’s a cow that somehow makes it okay?

they’re hung up AFTER THEY’RE DEAD to drain the blood and pull the skin off the body (the head is usually removed at this point too)

There is nothing appetising about this comment at all, it just sounds like a shitty version of Silence of the Lambs.

i know there are a lot of videos out there that show half living animals hanging and falling, and i can’t explain that. really i can’t, and i don’t know how/why it happens, because that is cruel to the animals.

So that’s where you draw the line at cruel to animals? Not the fact that you’re taking them from their homes and killing them. Not that they are forced up the killing line and put in a cage so that they can be shot in the head.

Do you want to know why you can’t explain it? Because it happens, every day.

I’ve been to slaughter houses, I’ve seen this first hand. It happens. Just because your family slaughterhouse does it one way, doesn’t mean that the other 99.9% do as well. It’s less effective that way and using all this money of stun guns is cutting into profits so they don’t do it.

so stop putting photos on the internet to gross people out when you’re uninformed.

Wrong. Stop putting your opinions on the internet when you’re the uninformed one, just because your family toes it one way doesn’t make it right.

If my family cut tomatoes differently that doesn’t mean that everyone else is wrong and uninformed, it makes us an exception. Not right.

i just have a problem with propaganda.

This is no propaganda, this is factual information told to you by people that have witnessed it first hand.

ginandbluegatorade:

If you’re a Vegen who’s decided to tell anybody that the way they’re living is wrong because they-

a) eat meat or anything else from animals

b) wear leather

c) don’t have the same diet as you, or share the same ideas about animals -

then:

a) fuck you, because you’re being narrow minded and

b) you should get a grip and grow the fuck up.

because

c) there’s nothing wrong with eating meat. It’s not your life.

yes, us vegans are the narrow minded ones, we are the ones that have closed our minds off to every horrible thing that happens to other beings in the world. We are the ones that continue to fuel the slavery, rape, torture and slaughter of billions of animals each and every year. We are the ones that turn a blind eye when it comes to suffering.

“there’s nothing wrong with eating meat. It’s not your life.”

i don’t even know where to start with this, it is quite possibly the most stupid comment i have ever heard.

there is EVERYTHING wrong with eating meat and all it takes is for someone to spend 5 minutes out of their narrow mind to realise that and change the way they view what they call “food”.

“it’s not your life”

exactly, it’s not your life to end, its not your life to say should be used for the production of dairy, it’s not your life to take the child of another being.

You’re in absolutely no fucking position to say who can and can not live,

I believe that every child between age 13-16 should have to watch earthlings, it should be a part of their schooling so that they actually know where their food is coming from rather than living a life full of lies fed to them by their families.
Children have a right to know what they are actually eating and where it comes from, and hopefully in doing this there won’t be as many “you need meat to live” carnists in the world.

All schools, the government and the media talks about if how children have the right to education, how kids need education to better themselves, why not teach them something that will not only help them in the long run, but something that will change the society for good.
Fuck meat.

I don’t get why any veg*n would say “i’m not trying to push my beliefs...104 northbri ave, Salisbury East

veegannn:

I don’t get why any veg*n would say “i’m not trying to push my beliefs down your throat” when they post anything vegan related on their facebook/tumblr.
I have been harassed by WAY too many defensive meat eaters when i am eating, which is something i would never ever do to anyone. If you are a meat eater and you wonder why i won’t go have food with you, it’s because i don’t want to watch you shovel dead flesh into your face… i don’t want to feel sick and put off, i don’t want to secretly resent everything you are, while you sit there and think I’M the one who shoves MY beliefs down YOUR throat?
you are the one shoving a dead animal down yours!
you are the one that harasses me while i am sitting down to eat a meal at tafe.
i’m sure the whole fucking 1% of the vegans out there are just shoving all the shit down your throat, i mean you have to deal with them every fucking day don’t you?
you have to deal with advertisments for vegan food on tv, on billboards, on the internet.
You have to put up with the majority of ALL MENUS AT ANY restaurant not actually having a fucking option for you when you go to eat there, you have to deal with so many vegans not understanding your lifestyle and a society that ingrains veganism into each and every part of everyones life. you have to search the supermarket for foods that you can actually eat, you have to look upon tofu with sadness knowing how many beans had to die, you have to deal with ridicule and people calling you an elitist, an extremist, a preacher EVERY FUCKING DAY don’t you?
You have to deal with veganism being shoved in your face every second of every day of your damn existence.

so you know what? fuck you
i will never be sorry, if three out of 700 statuses on facebook have to do with veganism and you complain about how many vegans there are and how annoying they are, please go fuck yourself.
it must be so hard being the fucking majority, and occasionally having to deal with people who FINALLY say the truth and call you out on the shit.
open your god damn eyes
they are the ones who shove THEIR LIFESTYLE down our throats…
and i will never be sorry, for saying what i know to be true, for calling these assholes out on their shit and standing up for what is fucking right.
fuck carnists, fuck speciesists, and fuck you apologetic vegans.

Fuck I love you.

Okay, I just need to say this, and I don't care how much hate I get for this.

cherryblossom-esque:

I support animal rights. I support vegans in their efforts to stem animal cruelty, I support animal rescue teams even more, and yes - I do love animals.

But I just read something that (in the midst of vilifying non-vegans) claimed that humans eating meat isn’t natural; that our natural diet is…

alrighty before we get down to the nitty gritty i thought i would start on a lighter note, Goodafternoon (possibly goodmorning)

now lets get down to business.

  1. you support animal rights
  2. you support vegans in their stem to stop animal cruelty
  3. you support animal rescue teams
  4. and you apparently love animals.

but you still eat meat. also that “thing” you read that “that humans eating meat isn’t natural; that our natural diet is plant-based.” wasn’t a thing, it was a fact. Eating meat isn’t natural,i’m going to take you on a journey so strap yourself in.

Human Body 1. with Josh.

lets start from the top,

The Brain- If as you state we are meat eaters and are meant to hunt for our food then we would have that natural instinct to hunt and kill, we wouldn’t need bows and arrows to kill them we would be able to do it with our bare hands. If we were to see a cow on the side of a paddock we would chase it down and eat the flesh right there and then, whilst still warm, straight from the bone. BUT we don’t do that, we farm our food, then get someone else to kill, clean, skin and package it for us so that we can take it home to our families, add our seasoning and then cook to the desired temperature. That right there, is not a hunting instinct, that is straight up laziness.

The Mouth- This is a class you can do at home, notice how your teeth are rounded? they aren’t sharp pointed fangs? that right there is to grind the leaves of the plants we consume, not to chop up hunks of meat. “But Josh what about these canines of mine? they’re fangs” true they are fang like, notice the key word there is like, for starters they are no where near sharp enough to hack into the limb of another being. they are used to break into more solid foods such as apples. Humans, among other Herbivores have well developed salivary glands that are necessary to pre-digest grains and fruits, true meat-eaters do not. Humans have an alkaline saliva with ptyalin to pre-digest the grains consumed, meat-eaters do not have this enzyme and their saliva is also acidic.

Internal Bodily Functions- True meat-eaters have intestinal tract that is only 3 times their body length so that rapidly decaying meat can pass through quickly, humans on the other hand have an intestinal tract that is 10-12 times their own body length. Meat-eaters have strong hydrochloric acid in their stomach which aids them in the digestion of meat, us humans do not have this, our stomach acid is also 20 times weaker than that of a meat-eater.

Limbs- if we are a meat eater like you say, where are our claws? those big claws at the end of our arms that we use to rip into the flesh of the other animals that we intend to devour?

Sure humans are animals, and no we haven’t forgotten that. “The first humans hunted with bows and arrows for meat; the first humans were omnivorous, and that has not changed” well! i’m not sure if you’re one of those “Christians” that believes that God put 2 white people in the jungle to procreate and now we have people, but if you are then good luck to you. Actually no, if you are one of those people, read a book. A book that’s not the bible. But if you are a rational thinker like most of us, then you believe in evolution, now where in the evolutionary chain did we come from you may ask? apes, monkeys, you know those things that are trapped in the zoo? what do they eat? plants, they are on a entirely plant based diet and they seem pretty healthy to me. so at what point in the evolutionary chain did we suddenly change from a plant based ape, to a meat hungry human? the answer is we didn’t, we are exactly the same as well were then, just with less hair. Well some of us anyway. “animals eat other animals. That’s just the fucking circle of life” true that is the circle of life, the circle of life for meat eaters, we as Herbivores are not in that circle of life. So we do not eat other animals.

There is a difference between eating meat that came from hunting and eating meat that came from a slaughterhouse.” true there is a difference in eating meat that was killed via hunting and the other a slaughterhouse, the difference is that one was killed using traditional methods, and the other was done using a modern version of that. the thing that they both have in common is that they are both wrong.

Animal cruelty is no reason to stop eating meat, because meat IS good for you, ”

well you seem to be pretty misinformed on what animal cruelty actually is, and also about health. Animal cruelty is a reason to stop eating meat and there is no doubt about that, if you’re against animal cruelty then you should be against eating meat. If you’re going to stick up for animals then you don’t have the choice of what animals you want to look after, you cant just choose the cute ones, cows are beautiful as well. and their personality is a hell of a lot more beautiful than yours. Also meat is not good for you, i don’t know what crappy cook book you read that in, but it is false, sure some of the things you find in meat are good for you, but they’re only the filtered down version through their intestinal track, where do you think the animals that you need for nutrients get all of these good things from? the correct answer is from the plants that they eat before hand.

But on that same note, be conscious of where your meat is coming from. I’ve been trying to give up fast food joints as of late because I know they’re the worst when it comes to slaughterhouses, and I will be making many more drastic changes in the future.”

I’m not even really sure how i should answer that because it is the most hypocritical thing i have ever heard. you wont eat from fast food because they’re the worst when it comes to slaughterhouses? I don’t know what your mental image of a slaughter house is, but there are no good or bad slaughterhouses, they all end up doing the same thing. killing the animal.

and also, no you can’t be an animal lover and a meat eater because then you’re going against your own word. you’re saying you love the animals but then you’re also saying you love them dead and on your plate.

you need to decide whether you actually love the animals or if you love whats on the end of your fork and the cute tumblr pictures.

I respect the choice to become vegan. But I don’t respect the choice to become a dumb vegan, or a rude vegan” there is no such thing as a dumb vegan, sure there would be less intelligent vegans out there, but every single vegan that is doing it for the right reason is already smarter than you, because they’ve realised how fucked up the world actually is, they’ve realised that the meat industry is just another way for the human population to exploit billions of lives each year for a very handsome profit, they have made the right choice, the choice to make a difference in this world.

this by itself is enough reason to call them more intelligent than you,

peace.

Bent As I Fall: I am an omnivore. And most people are.

dontbreakveg:

jimmysthename:

Herbivore: Only eats plants.

Carnivore: Eats mostly/only meat.

Omnivore: Eats both plants and meat.

True you are a carnivore, at the moment. you were not born a carnivore, it was forced upon you by your parents/ upbringing. you were young and…

that’s my mistake i made a spelling error in the first sentence and i can accept that..

i am not saying that your parents forced you to eat meat in the way that they would shove it down your throat or not let you leave the table unless you ate it all. more in the way that it was around you in your upbringing, you parents (I can only assume) eat meat, there would have been meat in the fridge, freezer, if you went out for dinner you would have been around meat. Unless you live in a cottage in the middle of nowhere in an entirely Vegan household there is no escaping the meat industry. In this way your parents were giving you the idea that eating meat is a good thing to do, giving it a positive message hence in a way forcing you to eat meat.

I enjoy the fact that you said you don’t support the meat industry, that’s great you’re part the way there, but that’s when you got stupid. “And not everyone can be a vegan. When choosing your diet you need to consider your ethnicity, your health, and your financial situation.” please tell me this was a joke, because if its not that’s just plain moronic.

“not everyone can be a vegan” False, everyone can be a vegan as we were born Herbivorous, it may take other a while longer than some but in the end everyone can become a vegan, the only major issue that would worry some in Religion, but don’t get me started on how pathetic that is.

Ethnicity: Is essentially the same as religion, just because you are born in a different country, or a different part of the world which makes you a different breed of person does not change the basic genetics of the human body. Asians, Australians, Indians, Native Americans, Americans we are all the same. You post a lot about racism and how people treat you differently for being Aboriginal (i’m not sure if thats what thats what you guys are called over there but thats what the natives are called in Australia, sorry if it is offensive or wrong i am just misinformed), but in saying that people are different because of their ethnic background is actually quite racist because you should be believing that everyone, no matter of their background is the same. just saying.

Health: False, Eating a proper vegan diet is the healthiest thing you can do for yourself.

Financial Situation: also False, if you do not buy mock meats, which aren’t needed to maintain a healthy vegan diet the cost of your foods will almost half, depending on the amount of meat you already consume, an entire fridge of different vegetables will cost around the same as 4 steaks. its not expensive at all, if you do it properly.

you just got Veganed.

Forever the only vegan in a group of meat eaters.

I’m sick of the pay outs.
I’m sick of the constant questioning.
I’m sick of the talking about killing shit.

I’m sick if fucking everything right now.

How can you even call yourself a feminist when you’re an omnivore?

LOoooooooooooooooool.

WHAT THE FUCK DOES THAT EVEN MEAN?

OMG.

LOLOLOL crying.

you’re ignoring the plight of…

LOL

Did you know plants can feel pain too? Think about that next time you’re nomming down on some freshly killed greens, you self righteous fuck.

I find it ridiculously sad amusing that someone can even compare feminism to becoming a vegan. Animals don’t deserve rights. Treated with respect and such? Of course, but an animal is not a human. There is this thing called a food chain you know, and animals eat other animals. I know this is hard to believe for some people, clearly. I just don’t like vegans shoving their beliefs/opinions down everyone’s throat. Get over yourself brah

I remember when plants have nervous systems and brains, both necessary to feel pain. Those were such good days.

“Animals don’t deserve rights.” Wow.

Just wow.

I stopped right about then.

Wow.

Here we have the prime example of a specieist.

I think I might throw up.

“Did you know plants can feel pain too? Think about that next time you’re nomming down on some freshly killed greens, you self righteous fuck.”

words can not describe how much i laughed when i read this, thankyou for brightening my day and the fact that you finished it with “you self righteous fuck” make it so much better, now to the real issues that you have put forward, when you said that plants feel pain you only mentioned greens, does that mean we are allowed to eat every other coloured vegetable out there? if you’re going to be a dick about something, at least be more or less specific so we know what we are allowed to do. you also said “freshly killed” does that mean that we are able to eat the vegetables if we have them raw and live?

are you secretly a raw food vegan trying to convert us all because you sure are doing a bang up job m8.

I find it ridiculously sad amusing that someone can even compare feminism to becoming a vegan. Animals don’t deserve rights. Treated with respect and such? Of course, but an animal is not a human. Allllllriiightyyy then, where do i begin, I find it ridiculously sad amusing that someone can be so blind when it comes to how much of a dick they are actually being, its almost as if you don’t read over what you have written, or you are the age of 12 trying to make it big in the adults world by taking cheap shots at people that are out there doing more to aid the planet than you ever will.

“Animals don’t deserve rights. Treated with respect and such? Of course, but an animal is not a human.”

humans as i am sure you are aware are mammals, and what are mammals? well, mammals are  air-breathing vertebrate animals characterised by the possession of endothermyhair, three middle ear bones, and mammary glands functional in mothers with young. Most mammals also possess sweat glands and specialised teeth, and the largest group of mammals, the placentals, have a placenta which feeds the offspring during gestation. Now under this title that is the “mammal” there are other such animals such as, but not limited to: The American Black Bear, Common Raccoon, Northern River Otter, Mink, Long tailed weasel and so on, so what you’re saying is when you take away the rights of the animals of the world, you are also taking them away from yourself. just because humans have evolved into this species that thinks it owns the world when in comparison to some of the other animals living on the planet it is still a baby doesn’t mean that they have the right to choose who lives and who dies.

There is this thing called a food chain you know, and animals eat other animals. I know this is hard to believe for some people, clearly.

and now the beloved food chain, invented by humans for humans, before humans came along and realised that they could fuck everything up that was just called “the way of life” where herbivores ate plants carnivores ate meat and so on, then the human race came along and decided to make their own way of doing things, hence… the world is fucked.

I just don’t like vegans shoving their beliefs/opinions down everyone’s throat. Get over yourself brah

and just for the record, you telling us that we are meant to eat meat and we are stupid for doing it, thats you shoving your beliefs down our throat.

peace.

you act like people can afford to live a vegan lifestyle. Being a vegan is a choice that a lot of people cannot afford to make.” for the price of one steak or packet of chicken breasts that you buy in the store you can feed an entire family for 2 days off a lentil curry that will only cost you half the price. for around $3-4 you can made a large pot of curried lentils with tomato and other vegetables if you like, 100% Vegan amd 50% cheaper than one piece of meat.

“Soz but humans are omnivores, and so am I.”

Just because humans can eat meat, doesn’t mean they should,  one of the only reasons we eat meat is because it is forced down our throats when young and we acquire a taste for meat. Almost all hervibores have canines for ripping through tough fruit. You tell me, when you look at any living animal do you EVER get the urge to kill it and eat it? No you want it cooked.

If you were a true Omnivore you would be able to go out into the woods, catch and kill an animal with your own bare hands and it it raw off the bone. not after cooking it to a medium rare and sprinkling it with salt and pepper to make sure it looks appetising.

dickheads.
